Botox North York

Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are Neurotoxin (injectable wrinkle removers) that relaxes the expression lines by blocking the nerves of the tiny facial muscles, so they do not contract. Botox Xeomin targets dynamic lines that include crow’s feet lines, forehead,  frown lines, marionette lines, bunny lines, vertical lip lines, chin wrinkles, and neck wrinkles. It is also extremely popular for jaw slimming (re-shaping), brow lifting, hyperhidrosis. Microbotox also helps to smoothen out the texture of the skin and can even calm severe acne!

What Is Botox?

Botox is a neuromuscular blocking injectable drug, which basically means it stops the transmission of chemicals that tell muscles to move. When you apply Botox to those tiny facial muscles that cause your face to wrinkle, it allows the skin to flatten out and appear younger. As an added benefit, Botox can also stop the occurrence of migraine headaches.

Botox FAQ

The following is a list of frequently asked questions about Botox from patients at our offices. If you still have questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact us.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can’t contract. That makes wrinkles relax and soften.

Botox is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. Botox won’t help with wrinkles caused by sun damage or gravity.

Candidate for botox

Botox is generally well-tolerated in a variety of people, but there are some contraindications for its use. If you’re hypersensitive to any botulinum toxin (botulism) or any of the other components included in an injection, you shouldn’t get Botox.

If you have an infection at the injection site, you’ll need to clear it up first. It’s not recommended for people with a neuromuscular disease (like multiple sclerosis or myasthenia gravis). Tell your doctor or injector about any drugs—over-the-counter, flu shots, or prescription antibiotics—you are taking, as well as supplements and vitamins.

Reason for botox?

The most common reason for getting botox is for cosmetic and beauty reasons. Simply put, botox relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, making them temporarily disappear. Without the wrinkles, your skin looks smoother and more youthful. You look younger and revitalized.

Your appearance has improved and along with that comes internal change. Your self-esteem will rise and you will feel more confident.

There are also medical reasons to get botox and the results can be life-changing. Here are some of the medical issues that botox (botulinum toxin) can help with, or in some instances, cure:

• Migraines – We treat patients who suffer from painful migraines by injecting botox into their head and neck every three months. They report immense improvement in the severity and frequency of their migraines after botox treatment.
• Excessive sweating – Patients who suffer from excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) show rapid improvement after botox treatment.
• Eye issues – A range of eye issues can be treated with botox, including drooping eyelids, eyelid muscle spasms (blepharospasm) and crooked eyes (strabismus).
• Facial ticks or twitching.
• Headaches.
• Teeth grinding (bruxism).

So you can see botox is a bit of a wonder treatment that can be used for a wide range of health issues. This list is only some of the health issues that can be addressed with the use of botox.

Did you know botox was first used as a treatment for eye twitching and later recognized and approved for cosmetic use?

What to expect?

  • Very minimal downtime
  • Noticeable results in a few days. Longer for larger areas
  • Results last about 3 months, 6+ months for larger areas

The process starts with a consultation, in which your injector discusses your concerns and goals and takes a full medical background and history to ensure that the injectable is safe for you.

Photographs may also be taken so you’re able to see the changes from your treatment. Then your face is cleansed, and the physician injects the areas of concern.

Botox North York is definitely a lunchtime procedure; it usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes. You can pop out to have your treatment done, then drive yourself straight back to the office.

If you have any residual redness or bruising, it can be easily covered with makeup.

Does Botox Injection Hurt?

The fear of pain is always in the back of people’s minds, and fear is one of the most common reasons women will decide to avoid the cosmetic procedure. Fortunately, a lot of modern aesthetic techniques are designed with patient comfort in mind. Whether it’s premixing a dermal filler, applying a topical numbing cream before your treatment, or ensuring you have a skilled professional, patients should never leave a cosmetic procedure in overbearing pain.

How Long Do Botox Results Last?

Botox injections usually begin working one to three days after treatment. Depending on the problem being treated, the effect may last three months or longer. To maintain the effect, you’ll need regular follow-up injections.

Am I A Good Candidate For Botox in North York medi spa?North York

Like any other cosmetic procedure, you must meet certain requirements in order to undergo BOTOX treatment. At Botox North York Rejuuv Medi Spa, we consider you an ideal candidate for BOTOX injections if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Are not pregnant or nursing at the time of your treatment
  • Are free of any known allergies to BOTOX

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates that 57 percent all BOTOX and Dysport patients are between the ages of 40 and 54. Twenty-three percent of recipients were 55 years of age or older, while people between 30 and 39-years old made up 18 percent. Only 1 percent of these patients were between the ages of 20-29.

Not all twenty-somethings will benefit from BOTOX, but some may find value in its ability to prevent the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Early injections may also make it possible to reduce the frequency of injections needed later in life.
